 Israel is a tiny country with so much to see. Although it is a four hour car ride from the center of the country, many people chose to fly down to Eilat, taking in the natural beauty of the desert. The country has a diverse landscape with the snow capped Mount Hermon to the Dead Sea, the lowest place in the world. Domestic flights in Israel have become quite convenient making a quick trip to Eilat very affordable. It is possible to catch an early morning flight to Eilat and then take a one day tour of Petra, getting back to Tel Aviv for a ate dinner. There are two Israeli airlines that have regular flights from Ben Gurion Airport or Sde Dov Airport in Tel Aviv. Flights start as low as $57 for adults $63 for children and $11 for infants. The Egged bus company offers bus service from a umber if cities in Israel. At the present time, Egged offers 6 buses from Jerusalem. The cost is about 67.50 NIS. If you are leaving from the Tel Aviv central bus station (tachana merkazit) Egged offers bout 11 trips daily. The price is also about 67.50 NIS.
